Cannot find Installable ISAM ERROR

I am writing an app in VB 6 that is a front end to an Access 97 database.
I use connection and command objects to pull / push data from the DB.
I have one table that is linked to a comma-delimited text file. When I try to read this table and create a new one with the data I get "Cannot Find Installable ISAM".
My tables linked to FoxPro work fine. This text file is giving me a headache.
