cannot find file

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, one user start getting the following error message when trying to open an excel sheet: Cannot find the file S:\Management\filename.xls' or one of its components).Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

I am able to access the file on any other PC on the network, and when I open Excel first I'm able to get to the file, but if I go to the directory I can't. MS Word files are working great and someother programs work fine.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated as usual.
