cannot export to excel after applying service pack 2

I have had problems using the alias in Crystal reports 9. I was told to apply the critical patch for Crystal 9. I did that and still had the problem with the alias.
I then applied the crystal reports 9 service pack 2. That took care of my alias problem. Now I have a problem I did not have before, the report I changed the alias on will not allow me to export to excel. I press the export button and choose Excel data only and nothing happens.
Has anybody experienced anything like this.
