I have an element in a table defined as text. I want the data to be " 1. a", " 1. b",..."10. a", etc. However, even though I enter a lower case letter, it immediately changes to upper case when the data is entered. If I omit the blank space between the period and the letter, it will accept the lower case. Any ideas how I might be able to enter the lower case letters? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -- Ham Rutledge

Try select Tools|Options|Spelling. There are many options on this dialog that might fix your issue.

Duane - thank you very much - I never thought of going through the zillions of options. I'm using Access 2000, and there is no tools/options/spelling. However, there is a tools/autocorrect/capitalize first letter of sentence, which was checked. I unchecked that and it works as I want. Thanks again. -- Ham
