Cannot edit distribution lists 1

Hi guys,
Im afraid its the return of the dreaded 'Trust relationship' question here. Our exchange 5.5 server on WIN2k is not letting me access distribution lists directly. I can access them if i go into a users mailbox and click on distribution lists, then click modify...
When accessing them from the exchange server i get
'The trust relationship between the primary domain and the trusted domain failed'
