Ok guys, weird problem. Do not know what I am missing. MICS 6 lines over shared T1. On line 6 the customer cannot dial 1870xxxxxxx. All lines have the same restriction, no routes, some 17xx dest codes, no 1870 in restrictions, but 1876xxx is there, other 5 lines do not have the problem. Used butt set to dial number successfully. Get message, "the long distance provider cannot be accessed or not authorized for you". Some message like this. Call not being denied in Nortel, because no warble heard. Copied line one to line 031 and problem still exists. All phones have the same problem. Not certain it is related, but moved line 6 to pool b and attempted to add access code for pool b. Could not add any code but 7xx. Extensions are 2, some hunt groups at 6 and 7, 9 pool a, 1 park, so do not know what 8 is used for. Could not assign it. Where do i look?

tks

Look to your carrier. You said it yourself not a Norstar issue as there is no "Restricted" message on the phone screen but an audio one, which is not provided by the system.

Just that there looks like an issue.
Converted to copper I gather somehow.

" Could not add any code but 7xx. Extensions are 2, some hunt groups at 6 and 7, 9 pool a, 1 park, so do not know what 8 is used for."

Park is 1
Exts 2 - 5
HG 6 and 7 (bad programming, should be one or the other).
9 Pool
8 could be a dest code, have a look in there under dialing plan.

Confused! successful? if you get the message as stated I would say NOT successful?.

This depends if I agree with Marv or not.....kind of do though.
LMAO!!

To check if there is LD on a line dial: 1700-555-4141. This will tell you who the LD carrier is.

Sorry, meant to say successfully dialed number through, but get error message through nortel set.

I meant to say i can dial 1870xxxx on butt set and call goes through as it should. On nortel phone i get "the long distance carrier is not authorized". Only happens on line 6. All other lines dial successfully. Cannot find any restriction diff in lines. Did not look in dial plan, but no dest code under services with 8. Do not really understand what prob could be. Tks

Must keep it to the forums please and thanks.

Seems like the Norstar is dialing an extra digit, otherwise how could the carrier tell butt set from ksu?

What software level is it? try copy line 5 to line 6 if its not ver 5.0.

Try also swapping the 2 line cards.

Dialing the code for LD will tell you if there is a LD carrier assigned to that line if there isn't you'll get a busy.

Are these lines assigned to a phone and your pressing the line and making a call?
