Cannot delete a publication.

I have a publication that is referencing a database that was deleted from the server. But I cannot delete the publication. When I try, by right clicking and selecting Delete, I get the following error:

SQL Server Enterprise Manager could not retrieve information about publication 'Name'.

Error 208: Invalid object name 'syspublications'.

Any ideas?

Well, we were able to at least remove the problem, for now. Ran the stored procedure sp_removesrvreplication. Let me know if anyone found a better way. Thanks.
