I'm using Solaris 2.9 on Sparc.
(SunOS 5.9 Generic_112233-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-250).
It comes with the Solaris 9 OE freeware packages already installed in /opt/sfw. The installed CVS version is 1.11.5.
I can create a CVS repository but when I try to commit or diff, I always get the following error :-
"cannot create /tmp/nightly.tmpdir.21057/cvsBLa0"
the last bit (cvsBLa0) changes everytime so is probably related to the process number.
I can get things to work by creating the directory "nightly.tmpdir" in /tmp but why do I need to do that ?
