The Environment
2 servers, Windows NT 4.0 Term Serv sp6, Citrix Metaframe 1.8 sp2 (i think? been a while)
The Problem:
I have users who just got new Windows 2000 computers who, upon having the Citrix client installed, repeatedly get the "cannot connect to citrix server: I/O Error" message. They will get this message dozens of times, sometimes for over an hour! But then, with no apparent resolution, they get in! Once they have established this first connection, they have no trouble running other published apps.
My Supposition
I've read a bit and twice I have come across folks pointing toward possible DNS issues. However, our company uses DHCP to assign these settings and I've other clients who are in a similar environment (they also use Win2k) who have no troubles with these same settings. One peculiar thing is that there are only 2 people that have this problem, and both of them are on the same subnet.
Yeah, I've checked router configs and MRTG data on that subnet and nothing out of the ordinary and yes, they are set up just like any other subnet. Grrrr! This is a good one, fellas. Got any help for a geek in need?
