cannot connect to 3548 from far away location

I have a pc that is connected to a drop that is well beyond the 330 ft limit. It used to work until somebody changed a setting (don't know what changed). Is there a setting that would cause this? A timeout setting or something? The current settings are:

description AUTOSHOP
duplex half
speed 10
spanning-tree portfast

spanning-tree portfast

I can see the mac address in the mac list of the switch but I cannot connect to it.

Make sure the PC is set to 10Mb half duplex.

I have tried it with both autodetect and 10/half with no luck. It seems to be a protocol problem since it shows as connected and I can see the mac of the pc on the switcb but I can't get an IP address. I even tried setting the IP of the pc to static with no luck.
