Cannot connect my ASA over TCP/IP 5

I'm set up but when I try connecting it keeps trying until it times out. What should I look for? g3r V11

Can you ping the C-LAN IP address? Check the port on the IP Services form and make sure it's the same in ASA. Do a 'get ethernet xxxx' to make sure that the C-LAN speed/duplex options are the same as the network is providing. Do a 'status link x' for the link associated with the C-LAN Data Module. If all else fails re-seat the board.

Yes I can ping. The speed and duplex do match. AS far as status it looks good.

Use the command disp ip-serv and make sure that the local port shown is the same as the port that you are attempting to use with ASA.

Do you know what port the Definity is looking to talk to you on? I have 2 different switches and one is 5023 and the othe is 5117.

Snapper, the way mine is setup is using the ip of your c-lan card and in the ASA setup using port 5111. It sounds like you are trying to do your connection through a data module which is a differant setup. In ASA under the general connections use the network connection tab, then you ip address of your c-lan. Then try port 5111 and see if that does it for you.

The Definity will let you nter a port between 5000 and 9999.

I got it!! I was in the ASA voice system properies. I had to change the default port number from 23 to 8251 (data module/port)

Now when you start ASA..you can just hit ctrl-E and it will start emulation. Also you can setup Time syncs, run alarm test and all kinds of "Stuff"...

In the future everything will work...
