Hi all,

I have a weird problem.
I have a Windows Server 2003 with a Progress database on it (multiple). At first there were 2 datbases installed and the ports to connect to are automatically put in the C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services file. No problems so far. After a few weeks 2 more databases were added and 2 more entries made in the services file. Everything works fine. After a few days the 2 new databases didnt start anymore because the latest 2 entries were removed from the services file. After adding them again everything works fine again. Weird thing is...they keep disappearing. I made a note for a couple of weeks to keep track of the last changed date and time:

26 nov. 0:16 (sat)
30 nov. 0:11 (wed)
03 dec. 0:11 (sat)
07 dec. 0:12 (wed)
09 dec. 0:13 (fri)
10 dec. 0:14 (sat)

I have no clue what it can be. Backups are made every night on weekdays with backup exec agent, funny is that the backup starts at 23:00 and finishes between 1:00 and 1:10, whisch is very close to the above mentioned times. The virusscanner is uninstalled for a while now so thats not the problem either. Anyone an idea?

TIA, Arnaud
