I just recently updated Windows Media Player to version 7.1 and also installed the WMP Encoder. After doing this, and rebooting, Win 2000 Pro will not boot up. It goes a little way, starts to do a scandisk, and then pops up a blue screen. I think it is a stop error, but I cannot be sure as it only flashes for a second, then the machine reboots itself. I cannot load into safe mode, either. I tried a fast repair using the emergency repair procedure, but it didn't help. I am planning a manual repair next, but I am fishing for advice from anyone else who has had this or similar problems. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide to get my PC up and working again!
