Cannot access system after downgrade from 9.0 to 8.1

After a downgrade from 9.0 to 8.1 I can't acces the system via the manager anymore. I get a network error failed to communicate with ip office message but I can still ping it.
Anyone's got an idea?

Yes, your security settings are corrupt.
Get a serial cable and do the AT-SECURITYRESETALL form there.
Then you can get in again.

That's what I was afraid off. I was hoping for a way to to this without rebooting

When done correctly there is no reboot needed.
When you make a type then you need to reboot
