Hi,
I am setting up a small home network (peer-peer/sharing).
PC1 -running XP home (one hard disk with anumber of
partitions.
-internet connection (USB modem)
-CD drive, a directory and shared directory are shared
PC2 - running Win2kpro
- a partition and a directory are shared
PC1 is connected to PC2 via a switch.
My problem is:
On PC1, I can see and access all shared PC2
directories (file transfer etc works).
On PC2 on the other hand, I can see the shared files
from PC1 but can only access the CD-rom. If I try to
access the shared partition and directory, I keep on
getting the message that it cannot be accessed - for
this command ,there is insufficient memory on the
server(this is a translation of the message - my
friends PC has german version of Win2K). I tried to
increase the virtual memory but no success(at least I
thought it has something to do with virtual memory)
PC2 has 512MB RAM and one 20GB hard disk with following partitions/ virtual memory:
Usage Size Virtual Mem Size
C: WIN2k 2.9GB 900MB
D: VirtualMem 960MB 950MB
E: Intenet temp 500MB
F: FAT32 990MB
G
rogram 3.9GB 500MB *
H
ata 2.4GB 500MB *
I:Backup 7.2GB
* This is the additional virtual memory I included thinking
it would solve the problem
I would appreciate if anyone had any ideas of what the problem could be/what I could try.
Best Regards,
Vjeko
