Hi,
first , you have to know the EIC-Number of your system.
this number can be seen at the begin of the printout "LIDAP;"
or you can find it in the "niux" on your NIU board.
to enter the niux :
1.) send S and press ENTER (same way to enter the system BUT without ";")
>login: SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS "ENTER"
2.) enter the user name and password (without ";")
username ? >
password ? >
3.) now niux response with :
niux >
with "readeic a" you get the EIC of your system.
e.g.
niux > readeic a
all information relating to eic
eic type (hex) = 0 [NOT MASTER]
eic ipa (hex)= 4711
eic as (hex) = 10
niux >
--> my LAB has EIC 10-4711
5.) change NIU2 board and wait 1-2 min.
6.) connect to your system and check the alarmlog (ALLOP) and test if port 1 and 2 and BLF are working.
There should only be one alarm left (117 EIC mismatch)
7.) Exit system and connect to "niux" (see 1-3)
8.) write your EIC to your new NIU with command "writeeic"
writeeic <ipa> <as> // 'writeeic xxxx[hex] yy[hex]'
e.g.
niux > writeeic 4711 10
NOTE : EIC can only set once. EIC can not be changed, if you type it wrong !!!!
P.S.
with "quit" you can exit the "niux"
e.g.
niux > quit
