If this is to access the server (logging in after a system reboot) then you may be stuck. You may need to call Avaya to get into the server. With Call Pilot 4.0 Microsoft had Nortel close their backdoor into Server 2003, this seems to be the case with later releases of Call Pilot 3.0.

There are software appliations that will allow you to do this yourself, but there are consequences in doing this. I use one application, but then you have to access the distributor tools to reset all the system passwords as the application wipes out all passwords. After this some login and password dependent services will not work.

If you speak with Nortel, their first response will be to reimage the server and restore the user database.

this may not be what you wanted to hear, and it sucks. I hope you are able to get in, let us know.

Hey, don't tell ANYONE about this, but there is a Linux software tool that will reset (clear) the administrators password. It's on the net. You should only test the tool on a non-production system before using it. It can be dangerous to use, if you don't know what you're doing. It is a hackers tool, but can be very effective in any environment to recover any type of system that is locked out. How many time do you see that here???

I had a customer who couldn't access their Call Pilot, I found that he was trying to access it across his network.

I was lucky in that I plugged in a monitor, keyboard and mouse onto the Call Pilot card. I was already logged in!. So I just created another account and changed the existing one.

However as stated above, you can also obtain some useful software such as Passware etc. I had version 8 and within it was a section to create a CD-Rom.

What you can do is to power down i.e. the Call Pilot and change the boot up sequence to make it boot from an external device such as a SCSI CD-Rom etc. This program takes over and allows you to re enter in a new password for any accounts that it finds.

Although I've not tried it on a Call Pilot system, I did mess about with my lads laptop that has Windows 7 one night and I was given the option to change the account.

Of course, you will have no option, other than to reboot the Call Pilot, but this is all that I can advise you on this topic.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Yeah, mine wipes all user account passwords. If you can get one that just changes the Administrator password that would be the best route since some services are login/password dependent.
