I'm trying to cancel some prints using the cancel command:- cancel 'printername'. However, I'm getting the message 'Permission Denied'. I'm confused as I'm logged in as the root user. Any ideas?
depending on where the queue is running you cannot stop printrequests as root, eg. if the printer is cascaded on a remote host, if it is a printer with a BSD-compatible Printerbox. Did you check the latest lp patch? There are a few known permission bugs in older releases...
Best Regards, Franz
