Is there a way to change the default spell checker within Microsoft Word to Canadian?

In Word 2K - on the Tools menu, choose Language - then Set Language. Scroll down until you find English (Canada) You can set it as the default by clicking the Default... button on the lower left of the language selection box. Confirm your language selection and this will change the the Normal.dot file on which all new documents are based.

will this do it for the current user only?

I need it to affect all users of the machine so that if I take an image of the machine and deploy it to other machines it will retain the Canadian Dictionary for everyone.

I believe you would have to make the changes for each user profile on the machine as changes to Normal.dot as far as default font face/size and color do not carry over to other profiles.
An image of the drive would retain these changes when deployed on another machine.
