I am having some odd security messages in the log that lead me to believe that something having to do with domainprep didn't go so well. What are the effects of running domainprep on a production environment? Will it simply reset all the permissions, etc, or will it trash the environment?
thanks!!

Domainprep adds to your active directory schema so that fields used by exchange can be attached to objects contained within AD. It also grants permission for operations specifically related to installing exchange 2000 to the account domainprep/forestprep are run as.

What's leading you to believe that running it again will solve your problems? Have you changed permissions of your administrative account since running it, or did it have errors when first run?

More information on how domainprep and forestprep work can be found here:
