Can you distinguish ring tones

Hey Everyone,
Is it possible to distinguish rings in a Norstar System from a transferred call that comes from say a call pilot, from a call that comes into the system and the person enters the person, say randomly and gets the extension without being transferred automatically by the call pilot. I thought that the system would see them both as transferred calls and would not give different tones, but I wanted to check with the experts.
