I have set up our IMC with message filtering so that a previous employee cannot send email in to anyone within our email server. My CFO is now asking whether we can prevent internal users on our server from sending out to this users home email address. Any ideas??

Create a new mailbox (or empty DL if you aren't bothered about being able to read the blocked mail), with a display name of the person's name, or even the SMTP address. Add the external SMTP address to the mailbox/DL as a secondary proxy. That way, when anyone types the SMTP address into the To box, it matches the GAL object - but because it displays the Display Name, it doesn't look like an internal mailbox.

Hi!

Here is how you can achieve this:

I would point out that:
- The DL which you create is empty so effectively nobody receives emails send from inside to that external e-mail address.
- It is a good idea to mark this DL as hidden - you do not want to see it in the list of internall recipients.
- Adding a recipient in the DL will deliver a copy of the e-mails sent to that address to that recipient
