can xserv g5 replace MS exchange & pdc?

Anyone know for sure the migration ease from MS 5.5 exchange to xserv g5. I know MS but not Apple so here is my chance to go the other way if I get my information right. I either go to MS 2003 server and exchange or bite the big Apple. I have heard lots of good but seems to be to true to be that good. All my clients are win 2k. I would like to keep my servers Linux and/or Mac. Can I get away with multiplatform? Is it worth it in the long run? Thanks

I have found myself wondering what it would be like to try Xserve for a thing or two, but I can't get past the fact that the XServe does not have a redundent power supply option.
