Hi all,
I am having my company logo in word format. I want to print it in reports. How can I do this?

I have tried it by copying image and making it jpeg file but while printing it is not coming clear as it is coming in word file. Thus I want to add word file in my report to show the logo.

If there is any other way to do it, then also please explain it.

Thanks and regards

HI

Probably try with a BMP image instead of JPG image and see, if this matters. JPGs often produce poorer quality compared to BMPs.

When you ask VFP questions, please add VFP version.

Thanks Ramani for your reply,
I have also tried it with bmp but again it is giving poor quality of picture.

Thanks and Regards

FoxKid,

Creating a graphic file is the best way to go.

Is the poor quality you are seeing caused by VFP, or is it in the graphic file itself? In other words, if you view the graphic file in another program, is the quality still poor? If so, the fault lies with whichever tool you are using to create the graphic.

Yes, you are right mike. The picture is still poor in another programs also i.e in paintbrush, photodraw. I have not yet tried with photoshop. But if the same picture I copy in word then it is giving a very good quality.

thanks and regards

FoxKid,

How are you creating the graphic? Perhaps you need to find a better tool.

I use Paintshop Pro, which always give good results. I have often captured images of Word documents with it. But the shareware sites are full of other good programs.

Mike,
Actually this is a logo of the company which I have joined resently. They have given me this logo in word file and want me to show it in all the reports. I am not having any other graphic software. If you know any such free software please let me know.

Thanks and regards

FoxKid,

I suggest you go to download.com and do a search for screen capture or graphics programs. There are hundreds of them. Just grab the first one that takes your fancy. As you will only have to use it once, there's no point in spending time choosing the best.

I think the problem with the SIZE.
If you warch the logo in word there is a very good quality, but in the report is poor.

MS Word use various resampling tchnology to resize pictures correct, but VFP does not !

If you put a very large (good quality) image into a 3x3 cm or a 2x2 cm rectangle in a report, VFP resize it without antialiasing.

Try to resize the image to its 'real' size which you ill use on the report with a graphical software (such as Irfanview/ PShop etc.), and put that image onto the report.

Mesa2,

I think you might be right about resizing. I assumed that FoxKid had captured the image from Word at the same size that he wanted it to appear in his report. That would avoid any loss of quality caused by Fox doing the resizing.
