Hello,

We currently have a situation is where we need to backup 1TB raw data from our SAN onto a tape.

Question. Can veritas UDB agent be installed on SQL database (win2k server) and backup this raw data as a normal netbackup client? if yes has anyone tried this method over LAN? using Gigabit Ethernet?

We have found documents suggests that SQL DB has to be a Media Server in order for UDB agent to work properly. This is not an option as we regularly reboot our media servers SSO tape drives and this would have impact on Database during production build/test etc...

Can anyone tried or know a way to backup 1TB raw data using UDB agent I would like to hear from you.

Thanks
DK
