I have been toying with Microsoft Access and I am sick of its non-intuitive ways.

I want to be able to create a car database in the same vein as I would using Microsoft Access's tables and reports. I want to be able to enter in car manufacturer, make, year, price and also include a photograph. Then I want a report interface where I can select the cars alphabetically or even search by make, year or price ? Then a 'pretty' results page will appear.

Is Ultradev and Coldfusion capable of this? What else do I need to learn? I don't have a database set up on my stand alone computer so what do I need to do?

Any help most appreciative.
Regards

ever tried php, apache and mysql ??

super sweet to set up
you said you don't have a database ?
go here and download phpdev4 which is a package of php. apache, mysql and perl.
One click to install ! (doesn't mess with your registry, so easy to get rid of if you don't like it).
Not sure if I would use it in a productive environment, but perfect for testing locally.

Then go to and click 'products on the left, then click Dreamweaver Tools, then click 'phakt' ro download. This is the free version of the php extension for dreamweaver.

Are you intent on developing it from scratch ?
If not, go to lots of scripts !!

Later, Skater
