We have a customer w/a MICS 6.1 XC connected to a MICS 6.1 via a point to point T-1. We are using redirected target lines to pass DID's across to Site B which is working fine.

But the customer also wants to see which extension is intercoming/calling them from the remote site and vice versa. The extension number does not pass through when calling across the T-1 (using line pools with access codes).

Is there a way to configure it so that extension ID info is passed across the T-1?

If not, is it possible to pass the extension ID info across if it were set up as a point to point PRI using MCDN and PRI keycodes?

You can do this if your connection is P2P PRI and you purchased the PRI Enabler and MCDN keycodes for each Norstar.
You must then configure each site's business name and the OLI number for each extension under the line access setting.

Thanks for the info and quick reply Aragon.

For further clarification, I'm guessing that even though the P2P is a really just 2 dry pairs between 2 central offices, when we option our switches with the PRI and MCDN codes and settings, that essentially makes it a PRI. Is this how you see it?

Yes the MCDN key allows you to run Nortel's SL1 protocol betweeen the sites over the dry copper pairs. The SL1 is designed to be a private PRI protocol between Nortel PBX's.

Got it. Looks like we'll need to upgrade to get the customer what they want. Thanks again.
