Finished CCNA and want to work on CCNP. Bought some routers this weekend - 2504 and a 4500m+. Both these router have Tokrn Ring ports. I have db9 to RJ45 adapters.

Can I connect the 2 routers together via their Token Ring ports, without using a Token Ring MAU (hub) ??????

I would assume that the cable between the 2 routers would be a straight thru (unlike connecting using a crossover cable to connect routers via ethernet ports)?????

Checked Cisco's site for Token Ring - so far no help with this quest. Since the routers are used, not usre if Cisco Tech Support would help me.

Have searched this forum and it seems that others may have had similar ideas, but nothing definative shows up.

The 2504 was significantly cheaper than the 2501s which I also bought for ethernet connection.

Thanks in advance for any and all help

Hiya
I had exactly the same problem as you and found nothing. The simple answer is to get a cheap token ring hub from ebay for about £20+.

That's what I did after days of trying different cable combinations
