Here's what I'm doing. I have 5.5 and set up a new test server with Exch 2003 Std. Ed. I have joined the 5.5 site and am testing the moving mailboxes over.

Now I realize my company wants to go to the Enterprise Ed. (for space reasons) and I am going to set the 'real' new server up with the Enterprise edition.

Should it matter or should I make my test server a enterrise edition before I move forward.

I'm in the testing phase right now.... this is my plan

1 - Old 5.5 loaded with ADC
2 - move mailboxes to Test 2003
3 - delete 5.5 from site
4 - added 'real' new 2003 to site with orginal 5.5 name (I like the name.. I know it doesn't really matter though)
5 - move mailboxes to Real New 2003
6 - remove test 2003 from site
7 - go to native 2003 on new server

Done exactly the same in our Organisation and this worked fine. No gotchas!
