I am trying to setup authorization codes, for a system and dont understand the directions on the help menu. I have made the changes in the registry so it will show them in manager. I am not sure how to make the shortcode so the system will require the authorization codes to dial out as well. Also can can you create a user without an extension just so they can have an authorization code, or should they have an extension?

OK I will try to help even though I have never used them myself
as far as I can get with teh explanation and playing around here on the manager software.
1.) you enable the registry entry
2.) you get the checkmark for forced authorisation code when you make a shortcode either in the system or the ARS
3.) you make user rights that suit your needs for either long distance or not
4.)you make authorization codes that enable User rights for that call so if people enter the correct code it will go through and if not then they will not be able to complete the call, no need to put a user into that auth. code even if you get an error until you finish the code so that way you can leave the user blank and it should work
5.)you test and hope for the best

you don't need an extension for any user and the auth codes will take effect when people dial out and the shortcode in the ARS is used, so the users could be hotdesking users and log into any phone with their login code.

I hope that this helps enough to get you going and testing

Thats the thing, I made the change in the registry, but I do not see a checkbox for authorization code in ars or shortcodes at all?

go back into the registry, I did have to do it twice to make it work. Actually I did it at my desktop and I could not find the checkmark, then I went to the couch and started watching Star Wars Episode 5 and played with my Laotop and the checkmark appeared and I checked my desktop again and it was not changed in the registry.

You need to edit the registry
Then open manager and pull a config from the ipoffice
If you open a config offline it will change the registry back to 0 !
