Can someone explain the proper use of the cluster commands?
I am trying to set up CMS on some 3550's and 3524's. I am getting a password error when I do the members.
How dependent is the CMS on the OS ver? All the units are at least 12.0
Thanks for any help and have a good holiday.

Don't bother. I would just put an IP address on each switch and manage them individually. CMS is more hassle to set up than what you can get out of it. I would probably disable CMS as well as this is ripe for abuse.

Thank you for your opinion but you really didn't answer my question. These switches are on a private network, not accessible from the outside world.

I wasn't trying to be smart I was just trying to save you the bother and time of realising that CMS is not worth the effort.

I have to agree with ADB100. Its never been much use to me. I'm not much on web management

I beleive (could be wrong) that the switches have to be the same version if using CMS. In a cluster you can mix and match models and versions, but I'm not sure about CMS. I would second ADB100 and BuckWeet to stick with the IOS CLI via telnet, ssh, or console port.
