I recently had my profile changed on my Windows 2000 computer. The reason for this is that they changed my domain. I was told by the IT group that I could delete my old profile after this was complete so I could conserve space. After all of this happened, I am unable to run Crystal Reports Export tool. However, if I log in as Administrator, I can run this program without any problems. If I log in as myself I can not run this program. Could it be that my permissions got messed up. My IT person stated that I am the administrator on my computer. It just seems odd, that this worked before but it is not working now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know have end of the month reports to write. Thanks and Happy New Year.

Ask your IT Dept. if they have allowed users to use the Run As... capability. If they have, this will allow you to stay in your profile and still run the program 'as if' you were administrator.

Another option would be to check and make sure that they really have given you the Administrative permissions on your system. If the program is a network program, then they need to give you administrative access to that share.

Here is the error message I am getting in Windows 2000:

The redirector was unable to initialize security context or query context attributes.

Any Suggestions

Here is what they did they changed my domain and my profile. When they changed my profile they just copied my Old Profile to my New Profile. I had them come over and make sure that I am still in as Administrator. What I can tell you is that they have really messed up my computer.

Should I just create a new profile?

As you can see, I am having a very trying day. Before they delete my profile and such, do I need to back up any of my files, i.e. my mail, my documents?

Actually, you will lose all desktop shortcuts, any shortcuts specific to your user account, and any files in My Documents. I would move the profile folder to a different location (possibly somewhere else on the network) or rename it.
Then have IT create a brand new profile and add you to the Administrator Group ONLY on the local machine and see if you can get it.
