Can register p2smon.dll on 98 machines

I own version 8.5 and want to create reports using active data sources. However, one of our developers using Win 98 is unable to activate this feature because p2smon.dll will not register on his machine. The rest of us use Win2000 or XP Pro. Likewise, we have had installation problems on some customers machines running Win98. p2sMon.dll will not register. Any ideas on whats wrong? Thanks.

I have encountered this problem with installing VB6 apps using crystal reports. The reason it would not register for me was the dependencies were missing. These files, if they do not exist on the machine, will cause the file in question to fail to register.

This is a list of dependency files needed for p2smon.dll to register from the Crystal Web site. Check for each one, if they are not there, I generally find a copy of the file on a machine that works and put the file in the same location. P2smon.dll was not the only file I had trouble with.

For future, check which files are missing and add them to the setup of the app for installation on other machines

Can you explain me what that's mean "registering p2smon.dll"? As I know, p2smon.dll is not a COM server, so what's mean "registering"?

I'm very interested in your answer because I use RDC version 8.5 with Active Data Sources and I get in a lot of troubles with them.
