i really fustrated! i have windows 98 se with a hp printer
3520 and when i go to microsoft word and notepad to print something out; the printer prints out a blank sheet. if i'm printing out something from the web or hp's print test page it comes out perfect. what the heck is this?

In control panel > printers is the printer set as "default"?

Uninstall the printer completely. Reinstall using drivers that came with printer. Does it still act up?

i did that twice last night! i uninstall usb printing support and the printer for a fresh start. it still acts weird. i have a dell pent. 3 intel board 82371 ab/eb.

When you print from the web or Word, I'm assuming that you go to File->Print to pull up the printer dialog box, correct?

If so, compare all options that you see in both for any differences. If there are none, then it must be an application problem. Otherwise, you could try to install the generic HP Laserjet III or Laserjet 4 print driver instead of the one you're currently using.

cdogg what type of application problem? i can print in win 98se painting program, but not word pad and microsoft word from office 97 suite. is there any solution to this weak intel 82371 ab/eb board. yes or no? communication usb solutions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;so it can interact with an hp deskjet 3520!!!

IT MIGHT NOT BE AN APPLICATION PROBLEM!

If you read my post closely, then you should at least acknowledge the following:

1) whether there are any differences in the Print Options window when printing across applications (as stated above)
2) whether you've tried using a generic driver (i.e. HP LJ III)
