can not resolve symbol

Hi all,
I wonder, what's the meaning of error msg "can not resolve symbol"?

I got it when try to compile a java class.
And where I can find references about errors and their meaning?

Usually means that you are trying to use a variable that hasn't been defined. If this is a JSP the most likely cause is that the necessary package has not been imported.
