Can Not Read E-mail

I am running Outlook Express on Win 2000 Pro.
I can receive my mail but cannot read it. I can see the subjects but the preview pane is empty.
If I open the message in a new window it is still empty.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook Expess, although it doesn't seem to fully unistall as when I reinstall, all my mail is still there. I also did a full virus scan.
Any help would be greatly appretiated.
