I have a PIX that I can not ping. Obviously I can not log onto it either. From the workstations on the network I can still get on the internet and browse the network so I think DNS is working fine. Since I can do this does that mean that my PIX or Router may be bad? This is where I am leaning and am going to begin checking for later on today. Just to be safe I have unplugged the T1 from the machine. Any first steps or suggestions with this issue?

If you internet access is fine but you just can't ping the inside of the pix then maybe icmp is blocked. If you can get internet access then you are getting traffic to the pix and beyond.

Chris.

How does your network go? Workstations --> Router --> Pix?

If so have you logged into the router to see if there are ACLs preventing access? Have you tried to get in with a console cable? Are there ACLs on the Pix permitting acces only to certain networks or workstation. If everything is connected and the internet works your router and Pix are just fine and are doing there job. most liekly there are ACLs in place.
