Can not open word attachment in Outlook Express 6.0 1

Hi,

I'm using Outlook Express 6.0 as my mail client. I can open attachment that is PDF but not things else. I do have Microsoft Word and Excel, but I could not open a word attachment. The message said "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail, file name.doc or .txt". Any ideas how to remove this flag so that I can open other attachments than just PDF.

Try this:

Open OE 6.0.
Click Tools, go to Options, and then click the Security tab.
Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
Click OK.

Also, I believe you can double-click the My Computer icon (or in Windows XP, go to Start > My Computer > select Tools > Folder Options and click on the tab for File Types. Select the extension for the file type you want to allow, such as DOC for Microsoft Word documents. Next, click the Advanced button, and untick the box that says: "Confirm Open After Download".

Thank you very much, it worked. I did went in there before and I must have overlooked that security tab. Any way thank you for your helps.
