Not really... it depends on how smart and how much effort they(school) want to put into it.
A proxy service would help, but even then, if they catch the packets and use something like Iris, it will rebuild for them the screens you see from the packets. You could see if you could encrypt a link to the proxy.. unlikely.. you might trying tunneling through another protocol..
But, if I were you, I'd save the *illegal* stuff for when you are off campus and not bother with trying the beat the system when on campus. The fallout is normally not worth whatever it is that you want to see. With friends with cable, cyber cafes and the like, there is NO reason to be screwing around on the schools network which is probably subpar anyways.
