Can I share NTFS?

Ok, I have my new Windows XP ready for installation and I am prepearing for the big step.

One issue I encountered regards the NTFS file system. I know that old Windows 95/98/ME can't access to NTFS partitions directly: say, if I have a dual boot with XP and 98, 98 isn't able to read XP's NTFS partitions.
However, is it possible for a Windows 95/98 client to access a NTFS partition through a network share? In this case the file system is not accessed directly, so it should be possible, shouldn't it?

Yes, I have Win XP on NTFS on one system and Win98SE on another, no problems with sharing at all, in fact my network is more stable than when both systems were using FAT32

Yes, otherwise a Windows NT/2K/XP file server (which normally would have NTFS as the file system) would be worthless in a mixed Windows network (i.e. Win95, Win98, etc). I don't know about adding stability to the network, I guess in a sense it would because it increases the the stability of the server and decreases the likely hood that files will become corrupted or accessed without permission.

My network is not a "big" network: I just sometimes connect the mobile PC to the desktop to transfer data and print, and I use network shares on the desktop for this purpose. However, the mobile PC does not have the hardware requirements to run neither NT/2000 nor XP.

About NTFS, I read it is more reliable because it uses an advanced way of indexing and organizing files and has the built-in ability to correct some errors, encrypt data and set permissions.
