Can I save a *.pdf file as rtf/doc/txt file

Please can someone tell me how to use Adobe Acrobat 4.0 to save a pdf files as a text/word document file?
Is it possible and how?

I'm no longer using 4.0 (upgraded to 5.0), but if I remember correctly it should be as simple as openign the pdf file and selecting the file format from the 'Save As..." menu command.
