Hello,
Is there a way to revert back to the original DNS when I run dcpromo on Windows 2000 server. I removed the original DNS record for the domain and now I am unable to get all the records that are required for AD (if they are any) but I seem to remember that I had more records in the DNS then the 4 records in the Forward looking zone there were some records with _...

Please advise

Hi!

If I understand correct, you want to recreate the server records in your AD intefrated DNS zone.

1. Install the support tools from the W2K server CDROM
2. Make sure that your DC is pointing to the DNS server which is hosting the AD integrated DNS zone
2. Open DOS prompt and type the following commands:

Code:
net stop netlogon
net start netlogon
netdiag /fix
ipconfig /registerdns
