The vertical line in my report extends too far down the page.

The report displays two group headers and detail information. The Group Header 2 is set to 'keep group together' and 'repeat group header on each page'. So, if there is not enough room for an entire group at the end of the page, it waits to display on the top of the next page. However, the vertical line (which extends from the Group Header 2 to the top of the Group Footer 1) displays beyond the last group displayed on the page.

Is there a way to stop the vertical line at the place where the last group on a page displays?

What if you extend the line to the bottom of GF2, rather than the top of GH1. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Thank you for your reply (and direction in the first place as to how to use vertical lines)!

When the line extends to the bottom of GF2 and not the top of GF1, the vertical line displays only for the first group (G2a). I need it to display all the way down the page for all G2 groups within each G1.

And if you go GH1 to GF1? Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Thanks for the continued help. Well, then the line extends higher up, from GH1, below GF2, to GF1. What I'd really like is to make the vertical line end where GF2 finishes printing for a page, because then the GF2 groups (within a GF1 group) continue on the next page.

If only there were a way to control this printing based on a condition.

No, but you can have 2 lines in 2 different sections, and control the visibility of those sections. The 2 lines can be made to appear as one. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Ken: I'm trying out your suggestion and will reply if I get something working. Thank you again, so much. Caryn
