Can I change WAV speed without changing pitch?

Does anyone know how to speed up or slow down a WAV file without changing the pitch? I'm a medical transcriptionist and a beginning VB6 programmer, creating a WAV player that works with a foot pedal. We transcriptionists like to be able to speed up the dictation without getting a Mickey Mouse effect. I've been using the MCI command strings up to now, but I can't find any that will help me accomplish this. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you're using VB6, try asking in Forum222 instead... because while I don't know the answer to your question, it's quite likely that VB6 and .NET handle something like this in very different ways.
