Can I change the DC Name in windows 2000 Server

Hi,

I want to rename the Domain Name in My Windows 2000 Server Domain Controller.Is Any Problem will persist after changing the Name?

Please help me out.

There was a thread on this about two weeks ago.

Basically, you'll have to DCPROMO your DC to demote it, rename it, then DCPROMO it to bring it back as a DC. You have to transfer all the FSMO roles over to a secondary DC before doing this (if it's handling any of these), as well as any services it's running (DNS, DHCP, etc.).

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.
