I have a customer who has a MICS that is not functioning. I have a system backup via fastrad. They are using PRI and I have the keycodes. When I move the software cartridge to the new cabinet the pri options are there but we cannot call in or out over the pri. Am I correct in assuming that this is a keycode issue? The place that my customer bought the system from is out of business and they have no options for getting a new keycode. One of our techs claims that there is a way to change the system ID of the new system to match that of the old, but it was a senior tech at his last company. Is this possible? If so please let me know. If you do not want to post this info please call me at seven one eight 499-7800 or email me at john(at)acsnyc(dot)com.

Thanks

when you say PRI options are there - is that the hardware is configured as a PRI?

then it is not a keycode issue - it is programming

<if you do a startup, the keycodes are removed from teh system>

I don't know of a way to change the System ID, but your issues is due to the PRI enabler activated against another SYSID. You will more than likely have to buy another PRI enabler for your current system. Once you restore a back up all settings are restored minus the keycodes. Even if you had them in hand you could enter them in a different system. I would imagine if you could figure out how to change the system ID to what ever you wanted you would only need to buy one PRI and use it for every system you wanted. Don't think Nortel would like that too much.

the sysid stays with the cabinet; exception being wierd power cycls during a startup...happened to me. but ITAS should be able to help you recover the codes since it was an equipment swapout. you might have to get a channel partner or authorized vendor to help you on it.
