Does anyone know how to group data in a form? I have a query that lists managers and agents like this:

Mgr1 Agent1
Mgr1 Agent2
Mgr1 Agent3
Mgr2 Agent4
Mgr2 Agent5 and so on....

The form is filtered by the Mgr, and what I want is for ALL their agents to list instead of having each agent in their own record.

Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi!

You can use a list box and set the row source to a query which selects the agents and filters by the manager.

I apologize for my lack of specifics... The list box would work fine except that a user needs to be able to edit data related to each agent.

My ideal situation is that the form will be filtered by the manager name, all agents and their status (which is the only field that will be updated) will be on one Mgr record, instead of one record per agent.

Is this possible?

Hi!

Sorry, didn't think about editing. Wouldn't it be easiest to set your form to datasheet view. Then all of the records will show at one time(at least as many as will fit of the form). Putting each agent in one record with their manager would not be good design.

I hadn't thought about doing a subform -- which would allow me to change the DefaultView property. I'll try it, and see what happens. Thanks JEBRY!
