Can cfregistry be used for remote machines???

Want to use to set up email and other registry settings.

I'm afraid CFREGISTRY can't be used on remote machines. You see CFREGISTRY can only affect the registry of the machine it is installed on, for security reasons. Since altering the registry can really mess up someone's machine , it is one of the biggest security hazards in CF (along with for example CFFILE), so it can only be used on the machine CF is installed on. Maybe you could be more specific about what you wanna do, there may be another way. Hope this helps...

Well I see now that this isn't going to work. I want to create a template in cf for new employees to set up email and other settings.

Be more specific on what you want, there might be a way without cfregistry, we're using CF here ;-)
