Actually, that's Windows Startup. BSpangler is referring to Word Startup.
Word Startup is used to place special templates that activate something everytime Word is started. For example, Adobe Distiller will add a template that adds the Acrobat toolbar and macros for creating PDFs; or a Fax utility will add commands, tools and styles for automatically sending faxes from within Word.
When I right click the tables button in Access, then choose link tables, change the "Files of type:" to dBase 5, it allows me to link to my FoxPro tables. Is that what you are doing?
