If I select a different printer when using, say MS Word, this will be remembered until the end of the Word session. In Access, I keep having to change from the default printer every time I access a report, even the report I may have just printed a minute ago.
I have looked at the default/specific printer options on Page Setup - these don't seem to help

I believe what you may be referring to is that the reports store the printer in their design. Therefore, if you try to print and Laserjet 5II was the default printer during development it will look for Laserjet 5II to print when you run the report. Then, if you want it to print on a different printer you need to select it manually.

Set the printer you want the reports to print from while you are in the report design, then save it and it will look for that printer each time.

If you're using A2k and haven't installed the latest service pack you may be experiencing a known bug. You can setup and save the printer settings yet the next time you open the report it's reverted back to the printer default. This has been fixed in SR/1, SR/1a and SR/2.

Sorry, I forgot to say I am using Access 97 - does the bug you refer to also exist in that version, and if so, is there a fix for it?
The default/specific printer settings are I think no the answer to my problem, unless of course I remember to change the default printer every time I am workign away from the office.
